Home Learning

We believe that children achieve to the best of their ability when a strong home school partnership is in place. As such, we require all parents to agree to our home academy policy, which can be found at the bottom of this page.

All students in Years 1-6 should be completing homework every night. Below is a table that shows the time your child should be spending on their homework and the activities they should be completing. The activities below are compulsory and we expect every child to complete them each week. If your child has more time available, we strongly encourage them to revise the information in their knowledge organisers, which can be found here.

Accelerated Reader
What else can I be doing to support my child at home?
Your child should continue to read as widely as possible during their time off school.
Students are able to access their AR accounts and take as many reading quizzes as they wish. The teacher will view this activity and provide feedback. Not all books have got Accelerated Reader tests available online but many do. To see if a book has an AR quiz available, use the website below.
www.arbookfinder.com
To log on to your child’s AR account from home, use the following link.

These resources will be incredibly useful and will hopefully continue to support the learning of reading that children have been doing in school. Once again, thank you for your continued support with home learning.
